Singer-songwriter Doug McCormick is solidly defining himself as the artist-to-watch in country music. With his powerful vocal delivery, straight from the heart songwriting, and energetic live performances, this small town South Carolina native’s music offers a unique marriage of traditional country and the modern styles of today.

“I feel like I’ve gone from just being a guy who likes to sing to becoming an artist. Through years of songwriting, my music has formed an identity that’s strongly influenced by who I am - a small town boy from Carolina who’s seen good times, felt the heartaches, and lives for the little things in life.”

Through relentless touring (currently playing upwards of 150 shows each year across the Southeast and beyond), Doug has built a loyal, grassroots following that continues to grow with each performance. Along the way, Doug has shared the stage with a number of nationally known acts including Luke Bryan, Lee Brice, Josh Turner, Easton Corbin, Charlie Daniels, David Nail, Colt Ford, Keith Anderson, Rhett Akins, and Sawyer Brown.

In the spring of 2011, Doug independently released his sophomore album, The Last Country Song. The first single from the project, “Watch Your Mouth”, received significant airplay on both the XM and FM radio formats and held the #1 position on XM57’s Top 20 countdown for 3 consecutive weeks.

Doug’s strong independent success helped him to plant a solid foothold in the highly competitive Nashville music scene. While paying his dues at several Music City hotspots, Doug began to turn heads within the industry. Attracted by his genuinely dynamic approach to entertaining a live audience, The Wildhorse Saloon, one of Nashville’s most prestigious live music venues, offered Doug a steady spot in their entertainment lineup.

With the live aspect of his career showing rapid growth, Doug began to also focus on honing his craft as a professional songwriter. After working diligently on his own and writing a number of the songs regularly heard in his live set, Doug signed his first publishing deal with BMG Chrysalis as an artist/writer in January 2013.

With a heartfelt desire to have a positive impact on country music and the world around him, Doug continues to plow forward. “Music is so powerful, and being a musician, I feel like I have a serious responsibility to uphold,” he says. “I pray that my music leaves behind a legacy that makes a difference in the lives of everyday, real people. I want my career to be something so much grander than myself. I hope when people hear my music, it moves them in a way nothing else can.”

Currently working on an EP featuring brand new music with producer, Marshall Altman, Doug is looking ahead with excitement to all the future holds, and he continues to humbly tip his hat to the ones who make it possible for him to live his dream every day: God and the fans of country music.
